Overview
면역글로불린 E(Immunoglobulin E, IgE)는 알레르기 반응을 매개하는 핵심 항체로, 알레르기 질환의 발생 기전, 진단 및 모니터링에서 중요한 역할을 합니다. 알레르겐 특이적 IgE(Allergen-specific IgE) 검출은 알레르기 연구, 성분 기반 진단(Component-Resolved Diagnostics), 분석법 개발 및 임상 검사 등 다양한 분야에서 널리 활용되고 있습니다. 전 세계적으로 알레르기 질환의 유병률이 지속적으로 증가함에 따라, 신뢰성 높은 알레르겐 특이적 IgE 대조물질(Control) 및 표준물질(Reference Material)은 체외진단 제조업체와 연구기관에서 필수적인 연구 및 진단 도구로 활용되고 있습니다.

Major Categories of Allergens
알레르겐(Allergen)은 발생원과 노출 경로에 따라 폭넓게 분류할 수 있습니다. 임상적으로 중요한 대부분의 알레르겐은 크게 식품 알레르겐(Food Allergens)​과 접촉성 또는 흡입성 알레르겐(Contact & Inhalant Allergens)​으로 구분됩니다.
이러한 알레르겐의 종류와 특성을 이해하는 것은 알레르기 연구, 알레르기 진단 분석법 개발 및 성분 기반 알레르기 검사에 중요한 기반이 됩니다.

Food Allergens
식품 알레르겐은 전 세계적으로 발생하는 IgE 매개성 알레르기 반응의 상당 부분을 차지합니다. 식품 알레르겐은 다양한 식물 및 동물 유래 식품에서 발생하며, 가벼운 구강 알레르기 증후군부터 심각한 전신성 아나필락시스까지 다양한 알레르기 증상을 유발할 수 있습니다.
주요 식품 알레르겐은 다음과 같습니다.
- 견과류 및 땅콩
- 우유와 계란 등 동물 유래 식품
- 과일 및 채소
- 해산물 및 갑각류
- 유지종자 및 곡물
이러한 알레르기 유발 식품에는 다양한 특성이 규명된 알레르겐 성분이 포함되어 있으며, 알레르기 진단, 알레르겐 특이적 IgE 검사 및 면역학 연구에 폭넓게 활용되고 있습니다.

Contact & Inhalant Allergens
Contact and inhalant allergens은 피부 접촉 또는 공기 중 노출을 통해 알레르기 감작을 유발하며, 알레르기 비염, 알레르기 천식 및 직업성 알레르기의 주요 원인 중 하나입니다.
발생원에 따라 접촉성 및 흡입성 알레르겐은 실외 알레르겐, 실내 알레르겐 및 동물 유래 알레르겐​으로 분류할 수 있습니다.

- Outdoor Allergens은 주로 꽃가루와 기타 환경 유래 물질에서 발생합니다. 잔디, 나무 및 잡초의 꽃가루에 대한 계절성 노출은 전 세계적으로 호흡기 알레르기를 유발하는 가장 일반적인 원인 중 하나입니다.

- Indoor Allergens은 연중 지속적인 알레르겐 노출과 관련이 있으며, 가정, 학교 및 작업장 등 다양한 실내 환경에서 흔히 발견됩니다. 대표적인 실내 알레르겐으로는 집먼지진드기, 바퀴벌레, 곰팡이 및 저장진드기 등이 있습니다.
- Animal-Related Allergens은 비듬, 타액, 소변 및 털 등에 포함된 단백질에서 유래합니다. 고양이, 개, 말, 설치류 및 기타 동물에 대한 알레르기 감작은 알레르기성 호흡기 질환과 직업성 알레르기의 주요 원인 중 하나입니다.
